Current Information:Age-22 82 Davenport Road, Catford Cabaret-Rouge British Cemetery, Souchez, France 22nd Royal Fusiliers arrived in France in November, 1915 to join 99 Brigade, 2nd Division. Between 10th June and 14th June, 1916 they were in the front line trenches at Carency, just to the north of Arras. Ernest Timms was killed in action on 13th June, 1916, but the Battalion Diary entry has no information concerning his death. When not involved in an actual battle it was either shell fire or a sniper’s bullet that caused most deaths and injuries. |
